Compensation Rates Increase for 2013

The Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation has published compensation rates for 2013. See the attached link. 2013 Compensation Rates. The maximum weekly rate for temporary total disability compensation, wage loss compensation and permanent total disability compensation for 2013 injuries and occupational diseases is $837.00. In order to receive this rate for temporary total disability compensation for the first twelve (12) weeks you are off work, your full weekly wage must be at least $1,162.50. In order to receive this rate for temporary total disability compensation after you have already been off for twelve (12) weeks, your average weekly wage must be at least $1,255.50.

The maximum weekly permanent partial disability rate for 2013 injuries and occupational diseases is $279.00. In order to receive this rate for 2013 injuries or occupational diseases, your average weekly wage must be at least $418.50.

Often, we find that an injured worker's average weekly wage (AWW) and full weekly wage (FWW) are set too low, which results in a lower rate of compensation when they miss work or apply for a permanent partial disability award. There are multiple ways to calculate an injured worker's AWW and FWW, but the Ohio BWC and self-insured employers do not go out of their way to increase the rates for you. Our office can help you obtain the highest rate possible, even if you were not working for part of the time in the one-year time period before your injury occurred.
