Karen D. Turano
Karen D. Turano was born in Atlanta, Georgia and attended the University of Georgia, where she studied and majored in History. She graduated cum laude in May 2003. While attending the University of Georgia, she was honored by being selected as a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.
Karen thereafter attended and graduated from Capital University Law School. She received her Juris Doctor in May 2007. While in law school, Karen was a volunteer with The National Center for Adoption Law & Policy. She also participated in Capital University Law School's externship program with the Franklin County Domestic Relations Court, Juvenile Division.
Karen has been employed with Charles Zamora Co., L.P.A. since 2006 and joined the firm as an Associate Attorney in November 2007. She is licensed to practice law in Ohio and the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio. She is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and the Ohio Association for Justice. She has concentrated her practice in the area of Workers' Compensation, representing injured workers before the Industrial Commission of Ohio. Karen has also practiced law before the Ohio Police & Fire Pension Fund, the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System and the Ohio Court of Claims in Victims of Crime Compensation.
In addition, Karen has first-chair litigation experience before the various Courts of Common Pleas throughout the State of Ohio and has argued successfully before the Tenth District Court of Appeals of Ohio in mandamus actions. Karen has also practiced law and argued on behalf of injured workers before the Supreme Court of Ohio.
Karen is married to a City of Columbus Firefighter who has proudly served the City of Columbus for over 11 years. She is the loving mother of a young family and an energetic 2 year old son.
